Rois Garde

A beautifully put together young Park Hack with straight movement and lovely presence.

Manny is a super sweet 6 year old 158 cm chestnut TB gelding by Fully Fledged out of a Danehill Dancer/ Octagonal mare. He trialled but was too slow, so came through Event Stars as a 3 year old.

We’ve started him in the show ring this season and he has been consistently well placed with a Supreme, 4 x Champion and 2 x Reserve Champion from 5 shows (details available).

He has had 2 x eventing starts with clear XC in both. Most recently he completed the CNC 65cm class at Eventing Wairarapa (Carterton) in November 17 with a dressage of 73.42%, and placing 1st on a final score of 34.6. At CD Eventing April 2016 he finished 12th on a score of 42.5 in the CNC 80cm.

Manny is a fun horse who tries hard to please. I got him as a 4 year old and have taken him quietly for the past 2 years. He has had extensive hacking up through the forest and down quiet country roads - alone or in groups, nothing bothers him. He has been ridden this season by a 16 year old with no prior showing experience and limited competition experience (for excellent results).

While he loves XC and has a bold, easy style Manny is not a fan of show jumping. He is super honest and will give it a go, but has been terrified in a grid in his past and is scared the poles are going to jump up and chase him - hence taking him quietly and focussing mainly on showing this season. His jump is too much fun to resist doing a bit of XC on him though! Time and patience may change his SJ experience.

Manny will suit a competent rider who understands a sensitive young horse. He is a kind horse who is super easy to truck, float and yard at shows. He can overthink life now and then and have the odd “moment” - zero dirt, just sit gently with him and he’ll carry on.

Based on his current form someone will have a hugely successful and fun partnership with him!
