Little Bit About Me

04-May-2018

Hi all,

To sum me up I'm a 21 year old osteopathy and equinology student in Clevedon. I have been riding since I could walk and hope to still ride even when I can't. I have evented at pre novice, show jumped at 115cm and medium level dressage, however due to an accident on cross country (through no fault of his own) I'm currently a straight dressage rider.

Over the 2014-2015 summer I was lucky enough to groom/ride for Nicky Pope and schooled up to grand prix movements, which has improved my way of riding and provided me with some of the tools to bring on my up-and-coming mare, Astek Aarcijazz (Twiggy). We're currently competing at level 2 but aiming for level3/4 next season. She has a lot of passion and personality, and secretly have big hopes for her in the future (watch this space!)

I'm currently working towards my H certificate and would have completed my A if I hadn't stopped jumping. I'm heavily involved with pony club since I love coaching all ages, both at rallies and privately, and working towards becoming a certified cross country course designer, if only I had more time!

Unfortunately at the beginning of September Astek Aarcijazz had a paddock accident and has blown her tendon. Thankfully there is a fair chance for her ecovery, but she has been perscribed with 12-18 months of confinement and rest. On the plus side, the vets thought it would be a good idea to put her in foal especially due to her fantastic heritage (Aachen x Jazz). On Tuesday 22nd November she was AI to Sheena Ross' stunning stallion; Fugato SW and waiting for her upcoming scan to confirm if she is officially in-foal!

In the mean time, my older ride (ex event and medium level dressage horse), Northern Lights (Fox) has been brought back into work, have qualified for HOY for Pleasure Show horse and trialing for NZPCA Dressage Champs. Currently working towards open medium level to keep his brain entertained.
